It is with great sadness that Hospital Radio Plymouth announces the resignation of Tony and Jane Gilliam.

Tony Gilliam has been broadcasting for more than 25 years, and has featured on the BBC, Angel Radio and Ferndale Community Radio. He also presents specialist musical programs, has co-hosted Election Specials and has also served on the Advisory Board for Plymouth Sound. His wife Jane has been a nurse for more than 30 years. She first came to the station in 2019 and took over as our fundraising manager.

Jane doing what she does best – fundraising!

Over the past few weeks, Tony and Jane have put in a lot of hard work into organising our appearance at the Saltash Regatta & Waterside Festival. They ensured we had two amazing stalls at the event which attracted many visitors.

Station manager Keith Jolley received their resignations after the event.

For the past two years, Jane has raised over £16,000 for Hospital Radio Plymouth, as well as coping with the stresses of her day job as a staff nurse at Derriford Hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic. As programme manager, husband Tony has also assisted Jane with the help of Trev Middleton. The team at the station have accepted their resignation with great sadness. We hope they will keep in touch and continue to support Hospital Radio Plymouth. They will be missed and we wish them all the best. – Keith Jolley
