Hospital Radio Plymouth has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award for an unprecendented 6th successive year. The station has reached the final 10 shortlisted to be declared HBA Station of the Year for 2013. Programmes or presenters on the station are also shortlisted in 5 other categories of this year's National Hospital Radio Awards. Veteran presenters Steve Glanville and Jill Bright are in the running for best multiple presenter show for their Wednesday night Requestline. Meanwhile recent recruit Rachael Dodd is in the frame to be Best Newcomer and Sally Box is shortlisted for her narrations of Sue Finden's book Casper the Commuting Cat. Programme Manager, Keith Jolley, has a double chance of success as Male Presenter of the Year and for the best Specialist Music Show with his programme Cover Me. Station Manager, Andrew Hill, said "I'm really pleased the quality of the work of our volunteers has been recognised with so many shortlistings in this year's awards. Our audience figures show our output is a hit with our listeners, but it's nice to also get some independent recognition of the service we provide." More than 200 hospital radios across the UK are eligible to take part in the National Hospital Radio Awards and the results will be declared at a ceremony in Blackpool towards the end of March.
